San Jose, CA – Second Start Learning Disabilities Programs, Inc. welcomes Andrew M. Phillips, Esq. to its board. Phillips is a San Jose, California, attorney and vice dean at Lincoln Law School of San Jose, and has over 30 years of experience in business and law. The Second Start board is composed of 10 business executives and community leaders from Nevada and California that guide the direction of Second Start’s operations.

“We are excited to have Andy join the board,” Ira M. Gostin, president of the Second Start board, said. “He brings great energy and expertise and will help us further the Second Start mission.”

Phillips will be taking over as chair of the governance committee and begin a program to formalize some of the board’s work as well as assist in a new strategic development plan.

Phillips’s experience in business and law is extensive. After Phillips earned his Bachelor of Science in Commerce-Management, he began a career in banking while pursuing his studies in graduate business at San Jose State University. He remained in the banking industry for the next 16 years until he joined a construction service company as its CFO. Phillips then received his Juris Doctor degree from Lincoln Law School of San Jose. He currently serves as a Professor in Contracts at the Lincoln Law School of San Jose and maintains a law practice in businesses advising and estate planning.
